CHRISTMAS EVE 2008
We are thankful that we were able to give the kids a nice Christmas this year, since the economy has left almost everyone in a completely different position than last year! We did cut back, but it was primarily on things for us--(no gifts, no "unnecessaries") so I don't think the kids noticed at all!
My wonderful hubby did a great job helping to wrap the gifts, and did most of the heavy cleaning to prepare for Christmas! We had some family over on Christmas Eve. I asked Nicole to go up to get dressed about 30 minutes before company was expected to arrive, and she disappeared for about an hour, emerging with clothes, jewelry, and even make-up on for this special night of company! After dinner and dessert,
the kids opened the gifts from the grandparents. Nicole was in her element when surrounded by American Girl boxes! (No one was too happy with me when I said "that's nice that the grandparents got clothes and accessories for your dolls...what did they get for you???)The boys received a lot of matching gifts, and the cutest thing to watch was them trying to figure out their "helmet heroes" toys! (Max figuring out how to work it, Jack figuring out how to get it on his head the right way!)
Later that evening after the grandparents left and the children were nestled all snug in their beds, Santa started his descent to the Dungan house!
